The First World Amyloidosis Day:  an initiative of the Amyloidosis Alliance. https://www.amyloidosisalliance.org

October 26 will be a day for connecting patients and carers.

The Australian Amyloidosis Network, AAN, invites Australian amyloidosis patients and carers to join  with others virtually and meet the AAN’s Patient and Family Advisory Committee. PFAC, members in your State. All  PFAC members are amyloidosis patients or carers.

The ANN hopes these meetings will start a much closer dialogue between patients, doctors and health professionals through the PFAC, which will hopefully lead to a stronger voice for all those diagnosed with Amyloidosis in Australia,

The 5 separate meetings will be delivered through one hour and 15 minute Zoom  sessions in the following States:

Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria/Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia . If you are living in one of the Territories you can still join one of the meetings.

Registration details and meeting times below.

Information about this day from the Amyloidosis Alliance. https://www.worldamyloidosisday.org

Amyloidosis is a rare and complex disease which is barely known by the general public and medical professionals alike.
The objective for the first ever World Amyloidosis Day, organised by the Amyloidosis Alliance and patient organisations from 18 different countries, spanning 4 continents, is to alert the world to the diagnostic delay that patients face, which averages 4 years*.

Faster diagnoses and better quality treatment can only be achieved by more widespread knowledge of the disease.

We chose the symbolism of the link for bringing patients, carers and all other caregivers together. Each and every one of us has something to bring to the fight against the illness.

Our campaign is aimed at all: health authorities and professionals, pharmaceutical companies, scientists, associations, etc. Let’s be the link to supporting patients and their loved ones.

Register here for this event. A zoom link will be forwarded once your registration is received
